Gregory Ulrich, 28, and John Budnovitch IV, 21, both of Milford, are facing multiple charges of animal cruelty, Milford police said after the Wednesday night arrests.
The two first smashed the windows of several cars in the Devon area of Milford "after leaving a local establishment," police said. Then they went two different locations, stole 20 chickens and killed them with their bare hands, according to police.
Several of the chickens were located in adjacent yards, police said.
Ulrich was charged with 20 counts of animal cruelty, 10 counts of second-degree criminal mischief, fifth-degree larceny, three counts of first-degree criminal mischief, and interfering with a police officer.
Bond was set at $15,000 for a court appearance on Jan. 30.
Budnovitch was charged with 20 counts of animal cruelty, two counts of first-degree conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, six counts of second-degree conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, evading responsibility, operating a motor vehicle under suspension and using a motor vehicle without an owner's permission.
Bond was set at $5,000 for a court appearance on Jan. 30.
